j walter thompson

J.Walter Thompson, a leading advertising company had rented the top floor of an office building in downtown HCM City. After examining the brief it was clear that there was not enough space for all the departmental requirements.  At the same time they required an innovative, transparent and flexible space that would reflect their creativity.

The floor to ceiling height allowed for the installation of a new mezzanine but the existing building structure would not support additional columns.  A new bridge structure was designed to hang from the existing columns but with the office as on the 16th floor all the elements had to be transported in the building lifts and assembled on site.

The design of the bridge sought an architectural expression in these complex structural limitations, maintaining a lightness and transparency of the structure while also expressing the structural connections between elements.
