Houses without Walls

The Karavansara Kyoto is from the series of Karavansara Projects. These projects are focused on the adaptive reuse of heritage structures, in this case, a traditional Japanese wooden home. The house had had many destructive additions over the years and the primary design task was to both bring the house up to modern living standards as well as bring back the original integrity of the structure.
